How to clean lens fungus

Fungal eye infections are common among users of contact lens. Fusarium is responsible for most cases of fungal eye infection. This fungus is present in the environment and can easily infect contact lenses and lens cases. To prevent fungal infections of the eye, it is essential to clean contact lenses thoroughly before and after use. Wash your hands with warm soapy water and dry them before handling contact lenses. Rub the contact lenses using your index finger and store them in a clean case with enough cleansing and hydrating solution to immerse the lens. Clean the contact lens case after each use and replace it every three months. Do not reuse the solution under any circumstance. This increases the risk of infection manifold since fungal pathogens are present even in the air. Never use plain water to clean contact lenses. Water can harbor pathogens which can flourish and cause infection in your eyes. Keep the solution bottles in a clean, dry place. Do not let the tip touch other objects so as to prevent contamination of the solution. Remember to insert your contact lenses before using makeup. You should not wear contact lenses while sleeping. Never use saline solution or rewetting solution to clean the lenses. These solutions are meant to keep your eyes lubricated, not to clean lenses.
